Before Your Arrive

What to Expect at Your First Meeting

Walking into a recovery meeting for the first time can feel uncertain. At The Mended Circle, you are welcome to listen, participate at your own pace, and keep your personal story private. You will never be required to speak, explain your beliefs, or define your recovery in any particular way.

Come as you are
There is no special preparation and nothing you need to bring.

Sharing is optional
You are always welcome to simply listen.

Your privacy matters
What is shared within the circle is treated with care and confidentiality.

Closing the Meeting

We begin with a welcome, the Pagans in Recovery Preamble, group announcements, and the Serenity Prayer. Those who wish may join in; participation is always voluntary.

The main portion may include a speaker, open discussion, a recovery topic, or a reading or book study. Members are invited to share their experience, strength, and hope—but listening is always welcome too.

A voluntary collection is taken to support meeting expenses, supplies, and the work of the group. There are no dues or fees, and no one is expected to contribute.

Before closing, we offer time for burning desires—anything someone urgently needs to share before leaving. We then close together with the Serenity Prayer and any final reminders.

PARTICIPATION IS YOUR CHOICE

You are welcome to speak—or simply listen.

You will not be asked to explain what you are recovering from, defend your spiritual beliefs, or share anything you would rather keep private. Being present is enough.
